WINEMAKER & CEO

After graduating from the Enology Institute of Bordeaux in 1982, Pascal Marty held the position of Winemaker for Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. for over 14 years. It was an integral part of the company's global expansion process. In the United States, Baron Phillippe made a joint venture with Robert Mondavi so Pascal was living in California to participate in this new project: Opus One. Years later Pascal would take a new professional challenge to take over the new joint venture created by Baron Phillippe and Viña Concha y Toro in Chile: Viña Almaviva, in the Maipo Valley.

In California, Pascal became a key technical member of the Opus One team, where he was able to lead the development and construction of the innovative wine and vineyard winery. Quickly after its launch in 1984, Opus One (an ink blend made from Cabernet Sauvignon along with other Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Merlot) became a wine awarded by the industry, creating its own niche in the market as the First wine really ultra premium.

In 1997, Pascal was chosen to develop the first project in Chile to produce a super premium wine in the Maipo Valley. This is how he became Co-General Manager and Winemaker of Viña Almaviva S.A. Thanks to the use of the classic principles of Bordeaux viticulture, it was how Pascal revitalized 40 hectares of vineyards and also supervised the construction of the new winery. Since its inception, Viña Almaviva has been consistently ranked as one of Chile's top Vineyards. Over the years, the wines produced by Pascal Marty have received extraordinary scores of between 95 and 100 points by prominent industry personalities such as Robert Parker and international magazines such as Wine Spectator.

In 2003, Pascal had the opportunity to form and design a unique project that led to the creation of the first icon wine of the traditional Cousiño Macul Vine called Lota. Since its launch, this super premium quality red assembly has received scores higher than 93 points as well as excellent reviews from industry leaders.

With a long history in the Chilean wine industry and the world, Pascal has been an Advisory Winemaker in prominent vineyards in regions such as California, Oregon, Washington, New York, Uruguay, and of course, in Chile as well. His experience and characteristic style can be found throughout VIÑA MARTY's portfolio, where Old World tradition and experience blend with the New World's excellence and technology. Today Pascal is completely dedicated to the growth of VIÑA MARTY, to continue producing wines of excellent quality that our consumers enjoy, and at the same time, creating a powerful brand.

Alvaro Reyes

Technical manager

After graduating in Agronomy in Chile, Alvaro continued his career in France, at the institutes of oenology and viticulture in Montpellier and Bordeaux. As a qualified oenologist, he joined the prestigious Moët et Chandon Champagne house, as the first Chilean oenologist in history, and vinified some iconic bottles there: Dom Pérignon, Ruinard, Veuve Clocquot, Posardin… After four years in France, he returned to Chile. in 2017. Since his meeting with Pascal Marty that same year, he has assumed the technical direction of Viña Marty.

Camila Ruz

chief winemaker

Multi-skilled, Camila Ruz is Viña Marty's Chief Winemaker. Graduated in Agronomy from the Catholic University of Maule and Enology from the University of Chile, she is one of the youngest members of the Chilean Association of Winemakers. In 2015 he began his career in the renowned Chilean organic winery: Emiliana. Since 2018, at Viña Marty, he has been pursuing an agroecological and organic approach to producing premium wines with conviction.
